ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY

MEDICAL IMPERICE AND HOSPITAL NEGLIGENCE LEADING CAUSE OF NOSOCOMIAL INFECTIONS

Nosocomial infections are a result of treatment in a hospital or a healthcare service. They are considered nosocomial if they appear 48 hours or more after hospital admission. Currently these infections have been increasing by mishandling of medical staff.
According to the CDC and an article published in a Journal of the American Medical Association (AMA) it was admitted that the death of 80.000 people annually is caused by hospital infections, due to poor hygiene practices among the staff that handles each one of the patients, and the indiscriminate and widespread use of antimicrobial substances in hospitals.

On the other hand, the medical staff said that the problem of hospital infections is difficult to eliminate because they are in constant move and manipulation of body fluids, secretions, excretions, mucous membranes and nonintact skin; however they must take all preventive measures to diminish the rates.

To sum up, for many people it is a worrying situation for this reason medical staff must overwork for cutting down this problem in short time.
